What happens in Miketz
Two years later, Pharaoh dreams of seven gaunt cows devouring seven fat ones, and only Joseph — summoned from the dungeon — can interpret: seven years of plenty, then seven of famine. Pharaoh makes Joseph viceroy of Egypt on the spot. When the famine reaches Canaan, Joseph's brothers come to buy grain and bow before the brother they don't recognize. Joseph tests them, demanding they bring Benjamin, and the parsha ends on a cliffhanger with a silver goblet planted in Benjamin's sack.

If this is your bar or bat mitzvah portion
In a single day Joseph goes from prisoner to prince — because he spent years becoming the person ready for that moment. Preparation meets opportunity: not a bad theme for someone who has spent months practicing a Torah portion for one morning.
